Gwen and her Dad pictures (first 6 weeks)

Look at those identical noses!!
On the phone to the grandparents in the USA
Getting ready for a trip out on the car
Trying out the carrier, seems to small for it at the moment though.

6 weeks old already, general pictures

Gwen is 6 weeks old today, wow that's gone fast. She's a right chunky monkey compared to when she was born, she now weighs 11lb.
Today I had to visit my chiropractor as my back is really starting to hurt from lifting her, I don't realise I'm doing it, so I need to work on my technique for feeding etc.. She's not even that big yet!! Think her Dad will have to do a lot of the carrying when she's older!
Nanna and Great Aunty Wendy (Nanna's sister) came too They wheeled her around in the pram in town. I'm hopefully going swimming tomorrow, gotta start getting the extra baby weight off now! I will look into signing Gwen up for the baby aquatots class.

Here's some pictures over the last few weeks

Danielle and Gwen (who visited with Gemma, last week. )
On Nanna's bedspread, (which is actually one Chris found in his loft at the old house)
Nanna looking at old family photos and Gwen sleeping in background.
Another Gwen pic with cute toy next to her that I guess she will get to play with at Nanna when she's older.
On the play mat, but more interested in looking at herself in the mirror just out of shot.

Gwens moses basket with her two toys watching over her..

Week 1

It was about 9pm time we got discharged and got her home on Wednesday 22nd Feb, so we pretty much went to bed. I hadn't had much sleep in the hospital the night before so I was tired. Gwen went into her moses basket by the bed and she woke a couple of times in the night for a feed.
Thursday my sister came round to take some pics of Gwen on the bed. She does this professionally (please see www.charlottephotography.co.uk) lovely pictures below.

We got Gwen officially registered down at Brixham Library, in week 2. Her full name is to be Gwendolyn Rose Pritchard-Thomas. Quite a mouthful but hey so is mine!

I also had a visit from the community midwife except it was also my friend (and students mum) Katherine who has been a great support through the pregnancy.

Chris did the first load of washing (the first of many!) and took this nice pic of baby clothes on the line!

My friend Ellie a nanny in Bermuda was visiting England and popped in to see me, Chris was out at a gig, and my mum came to keep me company. Here she is, making me look very pale and tired with her suntanned looks!!

Here is a shot of Gwen's hair in the first week, i'm told they can lose it.

And here's her Grandpa Martin holding her.

The start of a new blog - Gwen is born

Well as the band is no longer I thought I'd start another blog, this time it will be about Gwen our new addition. I'm sure only friends and family will be looking in.
Gwen will no doubt grow up super fast and so this will be a way of keeping all the good pics and stories in one place.

So here we go....

Gwen was born on Tuesday 21st February 2012. She arrived at 3.35pm at Torbay hospital. The birth was straight forward. My body did what it was designed to do and voila we went from just the 2 of us, to 3 in a short space of time (plus the 9 months)

Here is the straight after she was born pic - if you don't like to see a bit of baby gunk then don't look on the top of her head. In fact she was quite a clean new born.
I look very relieved as you can imagine!

These days they recommend skin to skin contact soon after birth for various reasons. Here is Chris having his skin to skin in the chair next to the hospital bed.

In her little bed next to my bed on the ward.

Still in delivery suite, under the lamp to keep her warm.
My two lovely midwives who came to say goodbye on the ward Katie and Melissa. Gwen is not pulling the best of faces admittedly!

You will need to ignore the dates at the top of the first few posts as I have some catching up to do...

22nd February 2012
We were visited today by lots of family members.
My sister Charlie drove down from Somerset especially to see Gwen.

Here I am still in my bed, with little Gwenny beside me, - cute!

Her little ankle bracelet - known as 'baby'

While we were in the hospital I saw Louisa (one of my students mums) who is a midwife at Torbay Hospital, she helped get Gwen into her going home suit (which was far too big) Here is a pic of her holding Gwen who looks really small now on reflection!
