It's raining! cake making

There has been much rain over the last few days, and today (Sunday) there is lots more, so it's been a indoors day. Gwen has been sleeping and eating with a small window of waking inbetween.  Yesterday I went to do a couple classes at my old work stagecoach and  Chris took Gwen out and about during the sessions. He went to a garden centre and stuck her in a trolley!

Today Chris is making some experimental muffins. He has used a courgette muffin recipe but used bananas and sultanas instead.

They have just come out and they are yummy!!

Baby massage

Today I went to baby massage for the first time. it's a free course run at my local sure start centre. I made sure Gwen had a sleep beforehand and gave her a good feed before we set out, but no of course she had to be the one baby who started to grizzle during the session so the massaging had to stop and I had to give her a cuddle, turned out she was tired and then fell asleep (after the massaging had finished! Ww had a cup of tea, and then the other babies started to moan, so most were all given a bottle. I was the only breastfeeder there, they had all had problems of different sorts, tongue tie, not producing enough milk etc..  It does baffle me that breastfeeding seems so challenging (I know i've been very lucky) and yet it's meant to be your body/baby doing what comes naturally. Surely it should be easier for Mums if it's natures intention?

Gwen had her first jabs on Monday, she cried for a bit, but then seemed fine. No problems in the evening, however she did sleep extra long that night! Talking of her nights, Gwen woke up hungry at 3am this morning which has been the earliest for a while. She had seemed tired at 8pm yesterday, so I got her into bed by 8.45pm.  We'll see what the next few days bring.

Lunch at the lovely Berry head

We took a trip last weekend to Berry head which is not far from our house at all. It's houses the remains of Napoleonic fort!

http://www.berryhead.org.uk/

There's a nice cafe there too, so we visit quite frequently.

Humungous Dogs!

Gwen is 2 months old today!

Wow that time has flown by, she is now smiling a lot more, she still has a wobbly head but what is quite amazing is she is sleeping from about 10 at night to 6 in the morning now! I'm not sure if it will last through teething but it's great to get some decent sleep!

Here's some recent- ish pictures

Visit from Charlie and the girls

My sister Charlie is visiting with her daughters Daisy 7 (nearly 8) and Iris 6. We had a photoshoot this morning with Gwen, she did a super smile for a few pictures too so i'm looking forward to seeing them.
After a spot of lunch round the table (and hail outside!) I suggested that the girls asked Chris about his music room, they shyly asked him and he took them out to try out the instruments. I joined them to and we had a jam. Iris was on keyboards, she looked like she knew what she was doing, very professional in fact but she was playing anything she felt like! Daisy went on the drums and looked very at home behind the kit. We played a few songs, 'price tag', 'I saw her standing there', 'alright now' Charlie brought Gwen in as she had been crying and she stopped with all the music. She seemed to like loud noises! Photos thanks to sister Vicky and her iphone

I'm not happy about that
'I'm really not happy about that'
'SQUIRREL' (only understood if you've watched 'up'
'hmmm, you are that woman, who's always staring at me? '
'Yeah whatever man!'
'Here's my lizard impression even though i have no idea what a lizard is'
'Hachoo' - whoops'
'I shall use it as a tissue I think'
'This tissue is rubbish - I am most displeased'
Will someone gets me a decent tissue please, I demand kleenex when i'm modelling you know'
Ahem (cough), is no-one listening to me, give me a freakin decent tissue

A random sleeping Gwen pic as I uploaded it by mistake with this batch.

Charity rugby match

Today was the charity Rugby Match between the Brixham youth team coaches and the lifeboat. Chris and his brother both got on the lifeboat team (not lifeboat men but hey ho). Chris has been to a few training sessions. The pitch is literally opposite our house, you can see nearly the whole pitch from Gwens room in fact.

Here are some pics from todays adventures

Chris is in number 9
One player on the opposite team, got hurt quite badly (his knee), and an ambulance had to be called
When Chris came over to see us during the accident, check out the socks!
